JAI HARRIS was born at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Colorado. She is the owner of MakeYourMarq Productions based in Denver. A versatile artist equipped with an influential voice and an ingenious vision. Jai Harris has mastered many arts. She has shared the stage with Bahamadia, Dead Prez, Raye 6 and Umi of POW. She has also performed for Spike Lee and Danny Glover. Beyond the world of performance, Jai is a filmmaker- producer, director, writer, editor, and actor. Jai recently taped the pilot for a new series, “Women of Power.” She performs the poetry intro and closing for the series and co-hosts the shows with award winning actor, Danny Glover. In January 2009 she was the featured poet in a PBS series, “Good Grief,” she was also a key editor and production assistant. She has been featured on The Carey Sisters Show in Las Vegas, Blaze Radio Show, The CEO Show and in Fly Magazine™. Jai ranked 4th in the Nation at NPS2007 with SlamNuba. She has performed in National showcases and has recorded tracks for Def Jam recording artist Chingy. Currently seeking a Bachelors of Arts from University of Colorado Denver, this talented young woman is without a doubt a “JACKie of all trades.”

Mohagany - Poet on All Access Live

Mahogany was born and raised in “Park Hill” Denver CO. She started off as a rapper of a group called Success Entertainment where she composed her own music and rap songs. She was a member of the group for a short period of time, until, she felt God pulling her to a higher calling and decided to move on. She then started to involve herself in theater and improve. She won first place reenacting a monologue “Eye of the Beholder” and was involved in several stage plays. She then found her Love for creative writing and decided to incorporate her lyrical style of rap into the soulful sounds of spoken word.

Mahogany has been a spoken word artist for 7 years. She has shared the stage with well known poets like Black Ice, Dana Gilmore, and Malcolm Jamal Warner. She uses her gift of speech to spread, love, encouragement and inspiration to everyone she encounters. She is currently a student seeking a degree in Journalism and Editorial. Once completed with her undergrad, she then plains to pursue her Masters to become Chief Editor of her own magazine.

Mahogany is currently working on her first poetry album titled “Womanology of Mahogany” coning to venue near you. Mahogany may be soft spoken and delicate, but she’s never soft like pillows….so don’t sleep on her.

Lucifury is a native of planet Earth, and has spent most of his life there. The rest of his time was spent on the Park Hill continent of planet Denver. He conquered his first empire at the age of 18, but traded it for something more valuable; a rhyme book. After being mistaken for the lord of darkness in his adolescence, he began training as a pupil of the Egyptian god, Osiris.
Around this time, he lost his belief in gravity. He only walks so people don’t freak out.
Lucifury is the son of a half-Jamaican wizard who stopped Vietcong bullets with lightning bolts. His mother is a yellow rose who appeared as a woman in his father’s dreams. His grand father made his living by skinning live tigers, and was among the first Negroes to teach steel to fly. Lucifury comes from a family of shamans who study the esoteric magic spells written on the wings of butterflies. He speaks fluent river. Lucifury also possesses x-rated vision, and knows what womens’ dreams look like in the nude.

Lucifury is the proud owner of a pet universe. He has defeated an entire school of ninjas without armor, using nothing but the African souls trapped between his toes. He also has an allergy to bullshit, and credits this disability for his not being capable of wackness. After a crash with the Silver Surfer, he had an operation where his blood was swapped for pure liquid charisma. Since this event, he has fathered 20 immortal children made of various shades of light. Lucifury is currently in a relationship with the color black, and loves her for who she is. He is now working on lyrics powerful enough to cure all known and future diseases.

Ayinde Russell is approaching the term NEO- soul in an entirely new way.

Here’s an artist determined to push himself beyond his limits, while executing his manifold gifts to excellence.

A vocalist, a spoken word performer and writer, an emcee and an M.C./host: he holds all the variables of the next generation of entertainment.

His talents have earned him coverage in local Colorado newspapers El Semanario, the Westword, the Colorado Springs Gazette, as well as publications like The Taos News and the online newspaper journal known as The Huffington Post. Ayinde has had the opportunity to inspire and educate thousands of people in conferences and events around the country through performance and motivational speaking.

As a performing vocalist and poet, he has opened for and worked with well-known recording artists and HBO Def Poets including: Gil Scott Heron, Eric Roberson, The Flobots, John Tesh, Fred Hammond, The Last Poets, Georgia Me, Tommy Bottoms, and Black Ice. He was recently named Fox 31 Denver and 95.7 FM The Party station’s Denver Idol in a local singing competition. He was also a featured vocalist on UPN 20’s ‘Gimme the Mike!.’

Ayinde has been a member of the 2008 and 2009 National Poetry Slam semifinalist teams: Denver SlamNuba and the Denver Mercury Café respectively. Both teams ranked among the top 8 competitive performance poetry slam teams in the nation. As an individual, Ayinde is currently ranked 13th in the country through the 2008 Individual World Poetry Slam, and was declared the Denver Mercury Café’s GrandSlam Champion of 2009.

Ayinde currently works as an educator for the non-profit healthy relationship and success development program, A Promising Future, and speaks nationally to students about claiming their life’s passion. He has been married for eight years to his wife Chekita and holds a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Denver seminary.

Bobby LeFrebre - Poet on All Access Live

Bobby LeFebre is a Denver born spoken word artist, actor, and activist. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2005, he became a Social Caseworker specializing in working with youth ages 12-18 that are on probation in the city of Denver.

It didn’t take LeFebre long to go from virtually unknown, to nationally respected, recognized, and accomplished in the world of slam and performance poetry. His work is passionate, raw and honest, and mixes his strong love for Latino culture with his natural gift for entertaining crowds. LeFebre is a two time Denver Grand Slam Champion, a National Poetry Slam Finalist, an Individual World Poetry Slam Finalist, and has been a member of the SlamNuba National Poetry Slam Team since 2007. In 2008 he was ranked the 10^th best slam poet in the world, and has seen finals stage with SlamNuba placing 4^th, 7^th, and 10^th in team competitions nationally.

LeFebre’s talent is not limited to just poetry. He is an actor with Denver’s only Latino theatre, El Centro Su Teatro, and has performed in countless productions as an actor for the last ten years. Bobby is represented by Radical Artists Agency who manages Colorado’s top actors for work in film, television, commercials, industrials, voiceovers, theatre, and commercial print. He has landed national and international commercial spots, voiceover work, and uses his talent as a spoken word artist to stretch the boundaries of conventional acting.

Combining his passion for education and performance, LeFebre is founder of Cafe Cultura, Denver’s largest monthly open mic and artistic expression event serving Denver’s Latino community. The event was voted “best open mic” in 2007, and has showcased both local and national talent.

As a performer, Bobby has taught and performed poetry and Spoken word at protests, cultural events, schools, detention centers, and colleges and universities across the United States. He has been featured in a number of publications including The Denver Post, Viva Colorado, El Semenario, Westword, on KGNU radio, KUVO radio, the Latin View television show, and was the 2008 Cesar Chavez Peace and Justice Award winner. He has shared stages with the top performance poets in the nation, Grammy nominated musicians Les Nubian, Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, Dead Prez, UNIVERSES, Bahamadia, The Chicano Messengers of Spoken Word, Gil Scott-Heron, Sandra Maria Esteves, and The Last Poets.
